The MET BALL in New York (or as I like to call it, Fashion eye-candy heaven) is like the Oscars to the Fashion set. A annual event for the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit chaired by none other then Anna Wintour and this year co-chaired by Carey Mulligan. The red carpet is a delectable buffet of fashion candy and of course fashion turnips (opposite of candy?) and this year was no different! Here are my picks for candies and turnips:
The Candy
#AmyPhoeler - my hero, she stepped out of her comfort zone and it paid off; we've never seen her look hotter! |
Beyonce - Simply fashion gorgeousity in #Givenchy Couture |
#Solange Knowles- Beyonce's lil sis almost stole the show with that amazing hair and #Rachel Roy dress |
#Rihanna in #TomFord - kept it sleek and sexy, a good red carpet look for her |
The amazing #Florence Welch donned a beautiful couture creation by #AlexanderMcQueen, truly an artistic endeavor |

As a fashion student/lover, I absolutely drooled over #MaryKateOlsen 's look: the dress is her own label, The Row and especially the hair and make up were high fashion perfection |
Absolutely divine styling for the co-chair of the event and guest of honour - #CareyMulligan was a vision in #Prada |
Turnips (Now for the fashion mishaps)
Hmm, Emma Stone usually is perfectly styled, but I guess her stylist was either on vacation or someone should be fired here, (or at least get a stern talking to) |
So I'm all for creating looks and telling stories through your clothes, UNLESS your story consists of library management in the 50's #KirstenDunst |
A major disappointment - #SJP you can do better! |
Scarlette Johansson usually looks divine at these events, but this is quite disappointing - it is safe to say tulle should be banned at the MET Ball and the world |
Theres high fashion, then there is just stupid - why would anyone think of putting that fabric like that, in that place |
